Marti French, who hails from San Tan Valley, Arizona where she lives – and teaches art quilting will be visiting Denver in August – and we’re thrilled to announce that she’s going to offer two of her classes at Wooden Spools!  Tuesday  August 6th and Monday, August 12th…..
From Marti:  “Just a bit about me:   I come from a long line of quilters and came through the ranks so to speak. Somewhere about ten years ago I discovered art quilting. I love the out-of-box exhilaration I get with the many mediums I have explored and experimented with”.

LET’S STRIP:  Tuesday, August 6th:  10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This class is not about taking off clothes nor is it about using Moda’s ready-made products. This is about you cutting your own 1” strips of fabric and making an artistic wall hanging or table runner. No pattern required.
All you need is an open mind, a good selection of fabric (at least 1” by 12”), a piece of batting, backing fabric, a sewing machine, basic sewing supplies, and thread. Bring along a few embellishments if you’d like.

DESIGN A LANDSCAPE!  Monday, August 12th  10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This is a free-spirited approach to creating a landscape wall hanging you will be proud to display. Marti French will show you how to do this with just your rotary cutter and mat with an artistic eye you may not even be aware you have. No pattern needed. You can create a desert, mountain, beach, forest, farm scene – anything you want.

2-½ hours

Come join Marti French for lots of fun and surprises.
